• Be at least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass background check and preemployment drug screening.
• Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job:  handling material potentially in excess of 80 lbs; working with tools off scaffolds, ladders, and aerial lifts at heights potentially in excess of 100 ft; working in confined spaces and in trenches of eight feet or greater depth; and working in adverse weather conditions.

• Installing and servicing alarm panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, and detectors for fire alarm systems.
• Understanding the relationship between volts, amps, current, and resistance as well as AC and DC Current.
• Using a digital multi-meter as a tool for troubleshooting ground faults, shorts, and open circuits on fire alarm systems.
• Installing and servicing communicators for monitoring systems.
• Inspecting, servicing, and maintaining fire extinguishers.
• Learning and assisting in special hazard applications for inspections and service such as clean agent, Vortex, AFFF, and CO2 systems.
• Fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining conduit, junction boxes, terminals, and equipment for fire alarm systems.
• Cutting, reaming, and bending conduits to specifications using tools such as saws, levels, reamers, and benders.
• Assembling and securing EMT and flexible conduits, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, with EMT and squeeze connectors.
• Stripping, pulling, and terminating wire to fire alarm devices using crimps, solder, shrink tubing, tape, wire nuts, and terminal blocks.
• Attaching conduits to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or anchors.
• Programming single line circuits, modules, sensors, and input/output devices for fire alarm panels.
• Measuring and marking conduits for cutting and bending.
• Laying out full scale drawings of fire alarm systems, supports, and related equipment following blueprints.
